Kandinsky Style Shapes

Learning about shapes in the style of Wassily Kandinsky. We used the Pixie App to create shapes and label them. I love how the shapes are the same but they are able to distort them a little to see the shapes in a new way.

Pic Collage Math

We went on a shape hunt around our school and took pictures of the shapes we see in our world. When we got back to our room we uploaded the pictures into Pic Collage and labeled them. I had them work in partners. This was one of the wonderful math ideas I got from Mrs. Wideen's Blog.

 

The students also created shapes with Play Dough and then took pictures and labeled them.

 

The students used the Pixie App to find shapes.
 

 Ways to make 10.

 The students took pictures of ways to make ten and then typed an equation for each in Pic Collage.

Dancing Robots

Our story for the week is My Robot so the students used the Easy Studio App to create shape robots and make them dance.
