Nearpod Lessons

Nearpod is one of my favorite Apps. It's similar to Classflow but way easier to use and you don't have to enter student names. You can create a lesson or they have premade lessons available for purchase. You can start a live session where you control the pace of the lesson with your teacher iPad or you can send it as homework and they can do it at their own pace in stations and then send you their results.

You can click on a student sample and send it out to all students to see a good example or maybe a not so good example:

This is my library of lessons. I just click a lesson, they send me a simple code and I share it with the students.

The students used the Pixie App to practice odd and even and then put it into a slideshow.

le Turtle

Turtle Body
Turtle Shell Cards
I got this cute idea from the YouTube video below. I made it last year but my scanner broke so I wasn't able to post it but there is an app for that. You can scan your projects on Scanner Pro and then email the PDF to yourself. It's so simple to use!

Pixie

This is one of my favorite apps for the classroom. The possibilities are endless! It has many premade lessons but you can also record, add text and pictures, or upload just about anything you want to create a picture or video.

Student Blogs

My students have their own blog and they Love it. Many of our activities are digital now so it's a great way for them to show off their work. It's engaging, motivating and gives purpose to our everyday activities.
I got this great idea from Kathy Cassidy's blog. She has a great tutorial on how to use it.

Here are a couple samples of my student's blogs:

Programmable iPad Apps I Love

These are two of my favorite programmable apps.
This game can be 1-4 players so if you only have 5 iPads like I do, your whole class can still play. You can easily create any game you want for reading or math- or use one of their pre-made games.

This is a programmable spelling/sight word practice app.
Since our spelling list changes each week it's nice to have them practice those specific words. You have to search sight words and spelling practice for it to come up in the app store. I'm not sure what the actual name is.

You can program Buzz Monster in the exact same way as Futaba but it's a game show format. Three students can play at a time.

I made two videos to try and show you how to use them.
They're terrible but I'm a visual person so it's more for when I forget how to use them;)

The SpellingCity app is free. You can type in your spelling words for the week and the students can click on the story to practice that weeks spelling words.
