Grumpy Cat

We read Grumpy Cat and then made a text to self connection in writing. We wrote The cat was grumpy because... I get grumpy when... and then they told about how they would make the cat feel better. I think it's funny to hear about what makes them grumpy:) We drew a cat face on black and then I glued over their drawing. We let it dry and the next day used chalk to color him in. I laminated them because the chalk is so messy and smears easily.

Pet Show

We read Pet Show. Every student brought their own pet (stuffed animal) from home. We did some activities with our pet and then had a pet show. Each pet got their own award.

We measured our pets.

  We weighed our pets to see how many pennies they were the same as and then counted them by tens and ones.

We made Pet Patterns and had to guess what the pattern was.

We wrote a story about our pets and drew a picture of them.

 We took a picture with our pets and added them to our bulletin board.

Cookie's Week

We read Cookies Week and then got into seven groups and worked together to retell the story. We did the setting first for each day and then drew the character and added him to the picture.

Pet Care Tips

We made Brochures with Pet Care Tips in them and then read them to the Kindergarten Class.
