Tree-Mendous Story Problems

We made a class book of apple tree story problems.

We estimated how many fruit loops would fit in each apple and then checked it.

The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree

We used real seeds, printed the apple and then used tissue paper wrapped around the bottom of a pencil to make the blossoms and tree.

Apple Prints

The rectangles are 7 x 1 1/2 inches and 1 1/2 inch squares. Then we just added the apple prints.

I added forks to hold the apples so it wasn't quite so messy.

Apples

Rotten Apple Game
Write words, letters, numbers you want to reinforce on apple cutouts. Draw a worm on one or two apples. Place apples face down. Students take turns drawing an apple. If they can read what is on it, they may keep it. If they get a rotten apple, they put all of their apples back.

Crockpot applesauce:
10 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced in chunks.
½ cup water
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ to 1 cup sugar
Put all ingredients in the crock pot, cover. Cook on high 3-4 hours.

Each student peeled their own apple with a potato peeler. I cut them up, put them in the crock pot with the rest of the ingredients and waited 4 hours. Yummy!!!

We graphed our favorite way to eat apples. We use our lunch choice name tags for our graph of the week.

Apple days

We had a one day fun day with apples called
Mrs. T's Apple days: We did the limbo on our way out :)

We made pot hats and apple prints:

We played toss the apple.
We started out close together and then got farther and farther apart:

We taste tested red, yellow and green apples
and then graphed our favorite:

We balanced an apple on a toilet paper roll and had a relay race:

We tried to toss the apple into the basket:

We tried to balance an apple on our head:

What Fun!!
