Ladybugs

Have each student make a ladybug. Give each student a number card and have them cut black circle spots for the wings that total that number (2 different numbers). Have the students fill in the first fact family square with their ladybug numbers. Have the students leave the ladybugs at their desks and walk around and fill in the other 3 squares with their friends fact family ladybugs.

Read The Grouchy Ladybug. Have the students make a ladybug clock. Read them story problems that have to do with ladybug time. Have them create it on their clocks. Such as: Ladybug needs to meet Bee in 2 hours. It is 10:00. What time does he need to meet Bee?

Here's a cute ladybug headband. Just wrap the black pipe cleaner around a pencil to give it that look.

After reading In the Tall Tall Grass we sorted insects and then chose one to draw and write a riddle about. We cut apart the title and had to put it back together to make sense. We shadow cut our insect and glued it under the grass. We shared our riddles with the class.
