States of Matter

Play 3 Corners with the States of Matter Sorting Cards: Each child picks a card and they have to go to the corner that matches their State of Matter: Solid, Liquid or Gas
I found these cool activities at
They used to be free but now there is a membership fee.

This is an easier version of what Fun in Fourth did. Click HERE to go to her website and check it out.
After playing 3 corners have the students go back to their desk and create this sort with Cheerios and the picture cards.

Cute printable Matter activities from First Grade Fanatics.

Here are a couple science experiments we did:
1. Mentos(solid) in Diet Coke(liquid) creates a Gas.

2. Baking Soda in a balloon, on top of a bottle filled with vinegar makes a gas and fills up the balloon.
