Math Games using Cubes on the iPad

Today is our 50th day of school so we played Race to 50. Each student rolled a dice, and then counted that many cubes. When they could make a ten they moved it over. The first person to 5 tens or 50 won.

This is an Investigations lesson on ways to make ten. The students counted out ten cubes in different ways and then wrote an equation to match. We just used the iPad so the students could make as many as they wanted without using paper to write them down.
We used ten frames to figure out the missing addend to ten. They rolled a dice and put that many cubes in the ten frame and then had to write an equation and figure out the answer.
I just love this app because connecting cubes are a huge part of math in first grade and there are so many ways you can use it.

This is another app I love for addition on the iPad:
