We learned about the four seasons and things that are symmetrical by putting a pop up book together. They look way better in person!
I traced the symmetrical patterns onto a folded 6x12 inch piece of paper, the students cut and popped out the shape. We tore pieces of paper to create a background. I attached the ribbon with a brad so they could tie the book closed. The students had to decide whether the shape was symmetrical or not and then I folded it to see if both sides were the same and then we sorted by symmetrical or not symmetrical.
