I demonstrated how to use the marshmallows and fruit loops to create hundreds, tens and ones and then they got into partners and told each other what to put on each. Then they had to record that number. This was a great activity for all levels because the students who had more trouble with place value could just do tens and ones and the students that needed more of a challenge could go all the way to 999.
