We made cylinder penguins and cube ice burgs for them to sit on. We learned a lot about penguins and wrote 3 penguin facts in our journals. We edited them, rewrote them, and published our penguin facts in the hall. We added some primary colored fish to swim underneath. This was a great math lesson and turned out very cute but takes a lot of patience. I had the students that were really good at making the cubes help out those that were having trouble.
We also had black and white day. We dressed in black and white, brought a black and white stuffed animal, ate Oreos and played some games.
1. Black, Black, White. Played like duck duck goose.
2. How many Oreos can you stack before they fall over. Graph the results.
