Here is the character weave we did as a class for Pete the Cat Saves Christmas.
The first word describes how the character was feeling, a quick sketch and then what text from the story made you think that he/she felt that way. When we were done we retold how the character felt throughout the story.
I laminated the top chart to reuse. The students love to help create character weaves.
In small groups we read The Littlest Elf and then each student created their own character weave.
It's such a great way to add some new vocabulary and learn synonyms, as well as analyze how a character's feelings change throughout a story.
